Wessanen Benelux is looking to recruit a Quality Manager for the Benelux.
Purpose of the job: to ensure the market quality of products sold by Wessanen Benelux and to give guidance to the quality and consumer care department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for leading the team (Quality and Consumer Care), managing the departmental workload and advise about budget.
- Responsible for the execution of Wessanen quality policies by the team.
- Manages product related risks for Wessanen Benelux own brands.
- Maintain the food safety, quality certifications required by the business with continuous improvement.
- Manage incidents, issues and crisis.
- Provide technical expertise on existing products and suppliers to internal teams.
- Coordinate management of suppliers allocated to Wessanen Benelux to ensure compliance with policies, regulation and specification, and manage specifically some suppliers:
- Pro-active risk assessment of products and implementation of preventive actions;
- Quality monitoring through product testing and supplier management (selection and improvement);
- Management of quality issues internally and externally.
- Provide technical expertise on existing products and suppliers to internal teams.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Industry:
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) of working as a Quality Assurance Leader within the food industry, food manufacturing experience, HACCP, GFSI, Risk Assessment Tools.
- Factory process/technology knowledge and experience with hot drinks, cereals, breakfast cereals, bakery, confectionery a bonus.
- Experience of working with international teams.
People Management:
- Positive experience in management (minimum 2 people)
- Experience of leading and participating in cross functional teams
Other:
- Knowledge of Dutch/EU food legislation
- Supplier auditing experience
- Experience in dealing with authorities
Technical Skills / Knowledge:
- Degree in Food Science/Food Technology
- Manage, develop and coach others.
- Organization and change management experience.
- Project Manager.
- Manages external network and relations regarding food safety/quality/legislation.
- Finds, monitors and interprets legislation/jurisprudence and all other issue information regarding food safety and quality.
- Crisis Management.
- HACCP.
- Certification/ quality systems e.g Organic, IFS Broker, RSPO en Fairtrade.
- Factory and supplier auditing.
- Can understand analysis methods and interpret analytical results.
- Proven written and verbal communications skills.
- Extensive knowledge of project management and crisis management
- Fluent Dutch and English. Other European languages, preferable German and French, are an advantage.
