We are looking to recruit our Quality Team Manager to develop, implement and maintain the best Quality Systems to ensure food safety, quality and legality for Ecotone. In addition, she/he will deliver a service to the French organization by ensuring food safety, quality and legality of the products specifically sold by Ecotone France.

 

Responsibilities :

 

  1. Strategy:
    1. Contributes to the definition of Ecotone’s wide quality policies and is responsible for  their implementation.
    2. The role takes care of all relevant quality requirements for the internal customer Ecotone France.
    3. It is responsible for integration of quality requirements as and when new companies are acquired if pertinent to Ecotone France (e.g. Danival/ Destination).
    4. Plays a key role in the development of Ecotone’s food safety and quality culture.

 

  1. Management and organization: leads the team (Quality and Consumer Care), manages the departmental organization and budget.

 

  1. Trade Associations & Testing Laboratory:
    1. monitors regulatory developments (Food Safety, Contaminants, etc) through French trade associations; represents Ecotone at French associations as required; is responsible for sharing/ escalating national development to the European Quality team.
    2. Instigates and supports actions to manage emerging risks
    3. Is responsible for the relationship with testing laboratory and sharing learnings with the rest of the EU Quality Team
    4. Reviews regulatory changes together with local regulatory manager, to support the development at EU level of position statements and evaluates impact on product portfolio.

 

  1. Quality and Supplier Assurance activities:
    1. In collaboration with EU Quality colleagues develops and maintains an European MSO Quality Standard to ensure food safety, product quality, and food fraud.
    2. Contributes to the development of a cohesive approach to 3rd party product monitoring plan for Ecotone Europe.
    3. Maintains quality certifications required by the business with continuous improvement for Organic, Fair Trade, Fair For Life, RSPO, Gluten Free, etc.
    4. Coordinates management of suppliers allocated to Ecotone France to ensure compliance with policies, regulation and specifications:
      1. Pro-active risk assessment of products and implementation of preventive actions;
      2. Quality monitoring through product testing
      3. Supplier management (selection and continuous improvement), including audits;
    5. Management of quality issues internally and externally.
    6. Ensure the quality of key products is defined and monitored.

 

  1. Quality issue management; Manages incidents, issues and crisis according to the Ecotone Crisis Manual and local procedures

 

  1. R&D Engagement and Support: Co-ordinates technical expertise on quality related topics to within the R&D process to ensure successful innovation / renovation launches.  Is responsible for representing Quality at the Local Innovation board.

 

  1. Careline: Provides careline and social media day-to-day support including the creation and regular review of technical position statements; advises and manages NGO’s related issues.

 

  1. Other Departments Support: the role supports the Sales department, Logistics as well as Export Departments with Quality related expertise.  In addition, develops communications during crisis

 

Experience & qualifications :

  • Degree in Food Science/Food Technology or related subject
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of working as a Quality Assurance Leader in food industry
  • Food manufacturing experience, HACCP, IFS, Risk Assessment Tools.
  • Positive experience in management & with cross functional teams
  • Supplier auditing experience
  • Experience of dealing with authorities
